Warriors coach Steve Kerr reveals Draymond Green’s punishment for punching teammate Jordan Poole
It looks that the Golden State Warriors have made a decision regarding Draymond Green’s situation, and it’s not what was expected.
The four-time NBA champion, who punched teammate Jordan Poole at practice last week, will not be suspended. Following Tuesday’s pre-season game against the Portland Trail Blazers, head coach Steve Kerr announced that Green will play opening night against the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kerr also revealed that Green was fined, and an exhaustive amount of “discussion with all of our key figures in the organization, including Jordan and Draymond,” took place all week.

Kerr said the Warriors’ organization feels good about their team and their constant stability, which led them to making this decision. According to the head coach, the organization evaluated all possible scenarios, and determined this level of punishment to be the best direction for the team.
“It’s never easy, no matter what decision you make in a situation like this,” Kerr said. “It’s not gonna be perfect. This is the biggest crisis we’ve ever had since I’ve been coach here. This is really serious stuff.”
While Kerr mentioned that this is a big deal for him and his team, he is trusting his gut with the decision.
