What happened between Draymond Green and the ejected heckler?

Draymond Green said he was receiving death threats from a fan who was ejected during the Warriors and Bucks game on Tuesday.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green exchanged some words with a heckling fan during their game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday.

What happened between Draymond Green and the heckling fan?

During the third quarter of the game, Green got into a heated conversation with a fan while Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo was taking a penalty shot. Green immediately went over to tell the officials and the fan was ejected. Green told reporters that he was close to diving on the fan, who he said was threatening his life.

“When I told the official what he said, he said, ‘oh, he’s got to get out of here’”, said Green.

Green was recently fined by the NBA for arguing with a fan, but said that he was aware that getting fans ejected from games is an option that players have available to them.

“I think you know, there are times when you’re just in the moment. And you respond so, that’s been an option,” said Green. “That wasn’t like, ‘oh I just found out that was an option once I got fined.’ That’s been there. The league has made that very clear to us for years that that’s been there. But like I said we’re all human beings and there are times when you just respond.”

Other incidents of fans heckling NBA players

Just a week ago, Lakers player Russell Westbrook was also involved in an argument with a Bucks fan. The fan was escorted out, but was eventually allowed to return to his court-side seat.

“Sometimes, obviously, things get said throughout the game and just being respectful is the thing I stand on,” said Westbrook. “I don’t mind people coming to the game and heckling and different things, but there’s a certain line you don’t cross and I feel like it crossed it. I’ll handle it and move forwards.”
