What NBA games are on today, Wednesday, April 27?
Both Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors will be looking to secure the wins that propel both teams into the next round of the playoffs.
Just two teams have secured their place in the next round of the NBA playoffs (Boston and Miami) and they can be joined tonight by reigning champions, Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors as they face Chicago Bulls and Denver Nuggets respectively with both games 3-1 as they head for Game 5 of the series.
Bulls @ Bucks: 7:30 pm (ET)
In Game 4 last Sunday, Bucks’ Greek international Giannis Antetokounmpo was in MVP mode with 32 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists and in the absence of Khris Middleton (out with a knee problem), Jrue Holiday (26 pts, 7 assists) was an effective foil and substitute Grayson Allen also contributing with 27 points for the current NBA champions).
“I have to trust my teammates. They know what to do. They can all make game-winning plays. The games become easy when you move the ball”, stated Giannis post game.
Even more pressure will be heaped upon Bulls’ star DeMar DeRozan after it was confirmed yesterday that All-Star Zach LaVine entered the NBA’s health and safety protocol and will miss Wednesday’s game.
LaVine led the Bulls in Sunday’s loss with 24 points on 8-of-18 shooting. He also had 13 assists and five rebounds.
Nuggets @ Warriors: 10:00 pm (ET)
Denver Nuggets defeated the Golden State Warriors 126-121 last Sunday and avoided a sweep in this first round series of the NBA playoffs to keep the contest alive.
Denver were inspired by Serbian star Nikola Jokic, who scored 37 points and grabbed 8 rebounds despite the Warriors overcoming a 17-point deficit to reach the last minute tied, but ended up doomed by several mistakes by Andrew Wiggins and Otto Porter.
Steph Curry scored 33 points and Klay Thompson another 32 for Golden State, which will have a second chance to qualify for the Western Conference semifinals in Game 5 on Wednesday in front of its home fans.
‘It’s a must win game’
“We got to go into it like it’s a must-win,” Thompson told the media pre-game. “We’d like to get some rest before next series and we don’t want to travel back to Denver (for a possible Game 6). We got to come with the mindset that we have something to prove, that it’s a must-win.”
