Batum was a member of the Tricolor national team, which suffered a complete collapse during the last World Cup and failed to advance to the tournament’s second stage. Batum and other experienced team members attributed the failure to a lack of cohesion within the team.

Recently, when asked about Embiid’s decision, Batum used the opportunity to criticize France.

I didn’t work that much because he really came to us, so he came to us, he asked for citizenship. So, when I heard about it, he came to me, and we talked about it for sure. I mean, I was more than happy to welcome him to the team, and he made the best decision for him.” the Los Angeles Clippers basketball player added: “I would have taken the same one [decision]. When you see all the guys who committed, like, they claim it’s the missing big man, but if you want the perfect lineup, they needed one of the best, if not the best, big men. So, when I saw that, I was like, oh, that’s fair,”.

Nicolas Batum, the French basketball player, has been a part of the National Basketball Association (NBA) since 2008. He started his career with the Portland Trail Blazers, where he played for seven seasons before moving on to play for the Charlotte Hornets and the Los Angeles Clippers. Batum has played 993 games in the NBA, with an average of 11.2 points, three assists, and 5.1 rebounds.

The 2024 Olympic Games will begin on June 26th in Paris, France. The basketball tournament will feature 12 teams, with eight already qualified teams. These teams are Serbia, France (the host), the United States of America, Canada, Australia, South Sudan, Japan, and Germany.
