When will Andrew Wiggins be back for the Golden State Warriors?

The Golden State Warriors player has been out of the team after an extended personal absence. Now he has broken his silence about it.

The Golden State Warriors are fighting to get to the NBA playoffs avoiding the Play-In with two games remaining for the end of the regular season.

Steve Kerr’s players have managed to get among the five best teams in the Western Conference without one of their key players, Andrew Wiggins, who has been out of the courts dealing with a family matter.

The 28-year-old Wiggins, who was a crucial piece for Golden State on their 2022 NBA Championship win, missed his 23rd straight game vs. Oklahoma City and hasn’t played since Feb. 13 against Washington.

But before the game against the Thunder Wiggins addressed the media.

“When you’re in a certain situation and your family needs you and requires your attention and your love, that’s my priority… Family is always first for me”, he said.

I’d rather just keep that private, for me and my family, and the people close to the family that need to know”, Wiggins said when asked about the situation that kept him away.

When will Andrew Higgins play again?

Tuesday night was quite a good one for the Warriors, as they defeated OKC Thunder and Wiggins announced he’s ready to come back and help the team again.

The forward admitted that “I got a lot of shots up. I lifted a couple of times. Moreso, I was on the court, getting a lot of work in. Not too much conditioning, but it was in the workout.”.

Higgins also thanked the franchise and the Warriors fans for all the support he received during his time off the court: “Thank you for all the love and support I had and my family had. I appreciate it. You guys are the best fans in the world.

Meanwhile, Kerr admitted that “it was great to see Andrew today. We missed him for the last couple of months. Everyone loves Andrew, just having him back is fantastic.”

The Warriors coach said he expects to know more in the next couple of days when Wiggins might be able to play and, if so, how many minutes that could be.

That being said, Kerr might be interested in making him play before the end of the regular season so that Wiggins gets the competitive rhythm as soon as possible.

That means Wiggins could feature Friday in Sacramento or Sunday in Portland before either the play-in tournament or playoffs begin.

The 2022 NBA All-Star averaged 17.1 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per contest in 37 games this season.
