When will the 2023 NBA All-Star starters be announced?

Basketball fans have until this Saturday, Jan. 21 to vote for their favorite players to make it to the All-Star Game on Feb. 19, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The NBA released on Thursday their third and final update on how voting has been going, and at the moment, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is leading the Western Conference with 6.5 million votes, while Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo has overtaken Kevin Durant of the Brooklyn Nets in the East with 5.9 million votes.

Jayson Tatum is in third place in the Eastern Conference behind Antetokounmpo and Durant among front court players, while Kyrie Irving of the Nets and Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers lead the race among the guards.

In the Western Conference, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets and Anthony Davis of the Lakers trail James in the front court contest, while Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic are the top guards.

Fan votes comprise 50% of the total count to determine who the starters will be, while a group of media members and players each account for 25% each.

The starter with the highest number of votes from fans for each conference will become the team captain.

When will the 2023 NBA All-Star starters be announced?

The NBA will announce the names of the players who made it as starters for the All-Star game on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. ET / 4 p.m. PT. The names of the two team captains will also be revealed at that time.
