Which international NBA players confirmed their Olympic Games participation?
Giannis Antetokounmpo and Luka Dončić will play in the Olympic Games qualifying tournament for Greece and Slovenia national teams, respectively.
Greece will be competing with a strong team in the Olympic Games qualifying tournament. Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks has confirmed his participation in the tournament, which will take place in Greece and promises to be thrilling.
Luka Dončić of the Dallas Mavericks will also play for Slovenia in the same tournament. At the same time, Nikola Vucevic of the Chicago Bulls will represent Montenegro in the tournament held in Latvia. Additionally, Kristaps Porziņģis of the Boston Celtics will also participate.
Basketball fans are also awaiting Nikola Jokić of the Denver Nuggets’ decision. He has yet to confirm his participation, as Serbia has already qualified for the Olympic Games.
Remaining qualification tournaments
As a reminder, in addition to the domestic selection, Egypt, the Dominican Republic, Slovenia, Croatia, and New Zealand will fight for a place at the Paris Games at the tournament in Greece, and only the winner of the tournament will see the lights of Paris.
Greece is grouped with Egypt and the Dominican Republic, while the other group consists of Slovenia, Croatia, and New Zealand. After the group stage, there will be semi-final matches, followed by the final, and then the announcement of the traveler to Paris. Montenegro will play in Latvia, following the same principle. Montenegro is in a group with Brazil and Cameroon; the second group consists of Latvia, Georgia, and Cameroon.
Puerto Rico will host the third tournament. Puerto Rico, Mexico, Ivory Coast, Lithuania, Italy, and Bahrain will compete for a place in Paris.
The fourth participant of the Games will come from the tournament in Spain. Spain, Angola, Lebanon, Finland, Poland, and the Bahamas will fight for an Olympic spot. The qualification tournaments are scheduled from July 2 to 7.
