Which teams do not have a pick in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft?
Ahead of Thursday’s NBA Draft in Brooklyn, here’s a look at which NBA teams don’t have a pick in the first round.
The 2022 NBA Draft is set to kick off on Thursday, June 23, at 8 pm ET with the Orlando Magic making the top overall selection, followed by the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets respectively.
With the draft order finalized following the lottery results, several teams who have a selection in the first round will be looking to strengthen their roster with more than one young prospect. On the other hand, several other teams that don’t have a first round pick of the Draft will be looking on the outside come the first round, including the Lakers.
There are seven teams that don’t have a pick in the first round of the 2022 NBA Draft because of numerous trades in which draft assets were included.

Los Angeles, for instance, traded their first-round pick to Pelicans’ Anthony Davis in 2019, a pick that ended up being No. 8 in this year’s draft due to L.A.’s 33-39 record.
