Who is in team USA’s coaching staff for the 2023 FIBA World Cup?

The US are hoping to lift the trophy in Manila as Golden State Warriors’ Steve Nash oversees the US team’s clash with Germany in the FIBA semi finals.

With a trip to the semi finals to face Germany in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup, Team USA are showing why they are many peoples favourites to lift the trophy, and in doing so would overtake the former Yugoslavia as the national team with the most victories in the international tournament.

The US have to get past a stout German side in the semi final and the contest will provide the perfect opportunity for coach Steve Kerr and his staff to consider their ideas and tactics.

Current Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr was officially named as head coach to lead the USA Men’s National Team in December 2021.

Kerr is currently overseeing Team USA at the current FIBA 2023 Basketball World Cup and will also looks after the team at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games that are scheduled Paris next year.

“I’m incredibly honored and humbled to represent our country as the head coach for the USA Basketball Men’s National Team,” said Kerr. “It’s a thrilling opportunity and I’m excited for the challenge stated the 57-year-old after being confirmed in the position.

Kerr won five NBA championships during a 15-year playing career with the likes of Chicago Bulls and San Antonio Spurs and has also overseen Golden State Warriors as head coach when they won the NBA title in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2022.

Erik Spoelstra and Mark Few are Kerr’s assistants with Tyronn Lue the third assistant coach.

Speaking about the coaching staff, Milwaukee Bucks and Team USA player, Bobby Portis stated: “Mark Few, obviously, he’s done a hell of a job at Gonzaga. Tyronn Lue, a hell of an NBA player and NBA coach. And then Erik Spoelstra, I think his resume kind of speaks for itself.”
