Why are Paul George and Joel Embiid out for Philadelphia 76ers tonight vs Orlando Magic
The Philadelphia 76ers have had a nightmare start to the season, and tonight its going to get even tougher with Paul George and Joel Embiid ruled out.
It’s been a start of the season to forget for Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers. They have been dealing with a long list of injuries since the start of the season, and tonight they will be without their two biggest stars, again.
Sixers starless for Magic encounter
Both Joel Embiid and Paul George have been listed as out for tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic. Embiid as been out since mid Novemeber, but George is coming off his best game as a Sixer on Tuesday night.
Embiid, who has had his troubles even before the season started after stating that he wouldn’t be participating in back-to-back games has been out with a left knee injury since November 20th. He has been inching closer to a return, but some personal issues are going to delay that return at least for another night.
George as been battling injuries since before the season tipped off in his first year in Philly. He hyperextended his left knee in preseason which forced him to miss the first couple weeks of the season. He came back in the same game that Joel Embiid got injured against the Memphis Grizzlies on November 20th.
Philly in the Eastern Conference basement
George returned to action on Saturday, and had is best game of the year against the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night scoring 29 points and dishing 8 assists. He played a season high 37 minutes in that game and he will get the night off as the Sixers try to ease their star score back to full fitness.
Embiid is expected to be back on the floor soon, and the Sixers will be hoping he can recover some of the magic he produced in the 2022/23 season when he was named the MVP of the NBA. This season has played in just four games this season and is averaging 19.8 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists.
With both George and Embiid out for tonight’s game against the Orlando Magic, the 14th placed Sixers will be without a total of 35.7 points, 12.8 rebounds and 8.6 assists as they take on the third placed Orlando Magic. Luckily for Phllly, Tyrese Maxey back to his best after suffering a hamstring injury last month.
