The Phoenix Suns have had trouble keeping their stars on the court this season, and tonight they will once again be missing a piece of their Big Three in a game in which they would love to steal away from the defending champions. Devin Booker has been listed as out for a second straight game after sitting out against the Thunder over the weekend.

Injuries hindering Suns season

It was one of the headlines of the offseason. The Phoenix Suns constructed the next super team to compete in an already loaded Western Conference. They brought Bradley Beal in from Washington to join forces with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. While it seemed like a match made in heaven on paper, and they have shown signs of how scary they can in the rare instance they are on the floor together, injuries have kept them from building the chemistry they were hoping to have heading into the playoffs.

Beal has had injury problems, dealing with back and hamstring knocks throughout the season. Now it’s Devin Booker who will miss tonight with a sprained ankle he suffered in the final minutes of the Suns loss to the Rockets over the weekend.

Booker is 0.3 points behind the Suns leading scorer Kevin Durant who is averaging 27.8 ppg, and the leading assist man and the conductor of the orchestra with a team high 6.8 assists a game. Beal is getting 18.3 points a game in his first season in the desert, and the Suns come into the night hanging on to the final automatic playoff spot in 6th place, a half game above the Sacramento Kings.
