This is Luka Doncic’s fifth selection to the NBA First Team. This makes him eligible for a Supermax contract extension worth $346 million over five years. There is no promise that Doncic will re-sign with the Mavericks, even though this supermax deal is up in the summer of 2025.

Luka Doncic has to wait till summer 2025, as he needs to have played seven years in the league to qualify for the Supermax. With his pen to paper, Doncic is poised to secure the largest contract in NBA history.

What is Luka Doncic’s current contract with the Mavericks?

The rookie max increase he received last season gave him a new deal worth $215 million over five years. The deal lasts until 2026, and the player has the chance to add one more year.

The 25-year-old Slovenian guard is currently enjoying a remarkable season with the Mavericks. He has been consistently putting up impressive numbers, averaging 34.0 points, 9.1 rebounds, 9.8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

His shooting percentages have also been quite impressive, with 48.9% from the field, 38.0% from three-point range, and 78.2% from the free throw line. The Slovenian has a really good chance of winning his first ring with the franchise this year, but first his team has to beat the Timberwolves on what promises to be a great series.
