Will Luke Kornet play for the Celtics in Game 4 against the Pacers today?
Center Kornet missed the Boston Celtics’ win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, having suffered an injury in Game 2 last midweek.
Celtics center Luke Kornet is listed as questionable for today’s Eastern Conference Finals clash with the Indiana Pacers, as Boston bid to wrap up a series sweep and book their spot in the NBA Finals.
What injury does Kornet have?
The Celtics head into Game 4 against the Pacers leading the best-of-seven series 3-0, after Jayson Tatum’s 36 points led Joe Mazzulla’s men to a 114-111 win in Indianapolis in Game 3 on Saturday.
Boston were without Kornet at the weekend, after the 28-year-old picked up a left wrist sprain in Game 2 at TD Garden two days earlier.
Speaking to reporters after the Celtics’ Game 3 win over the Pacers, head coach Mazzulla said he had “no idea” when Kornet would return to action. Reports in the US media suggest that Boston may opt against risking the Kentucky native’s wrist today, given their commanding lead in the series.
Who else is on the Celtics’ injury report?
Kristaps Porzingis remains unavailable to the Celtics, having missed the team’s last nine games since the end of April. As is the case with Kornet, Mazzulla said this weekend that he doesn’t have a timeline on Porzingis’ return.
Meanwhile, Jrue Holiday was a doubt for Saturday’s game due to illness, but eventually played for 38 minutes, scoring 14 points and registering nine rebounds at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Ahead of Game 4, Holiday has been listed as questionable once more.
