The Philadelphia 76ers have had their fair share of injury problems this year. Most notably, Joel Embiid, who missed a large portion of the season due to a torn meniscus. Tonight the reigning MVP will have to deal with a not fully healed knee injury and a migraine which just popped up today.

Migraine on top of injury

Embiid tore his meniscus at the end of January late in a game against the Golden State Warriors. He had surgery soon after, which kept him out until the final week and a half of the regular season. While he has come back and put up MVP type numbers, just as he was before the injury, there is a noticeable hobble in his step which comes with certain limitations on the floor.

Embiid and the Sixers are down 3-1 heading into Madison Square Garden on Tuesday night, but by no fault of the reigning MVP’s play. Embiid is averaging 35 points and 9 rebounds in the series against the Knicks, which are strikingly similar numbers to the ones he was putting up in the first four months of the season.

As if the Sixers and Embiid didn’t have enough to worry about coming into tonight, there was some breaking news coming out of Philly’s came earlier today. The Sixers center missed the team shoot around because of a migraine, which will make tonight’s game even tougher if the pain doesn’t subside.

Embiid was listed as questionable for tonight’s game, but to no surprise to anyone, the Philly center will play in Game 5. The migraine is an after thought tonight as Joel only has eyes on a win tonight, as the Sixers try to extend the series.
