The Los Angeles Lakers have begun their activity in the so-called Summer League California Classic of the NBA in San Francisco with two defeats. First, they lost to the Sacramento Kings by a score of 108- 94, where we saw the debut of LeBron James’s son. Then, this Sunday, they fell 92-68 to the Golden State Warriors.
Bronny James had action with the Lakers jersey in which he could add four points, four assists, two rebounds, and a steal in the 21.43 minutes he was on the court against the Kings. In addition to Bronny, Dalton Knecht, the Lakers’ first draft pick, was also able to debut.
3 double track players and two extensions
Now, the Lakers themselves have officially signed two-way players who will be in the G-League and possibly reach the NBA roster at some point. Such is the case of the Frenchman Armel Traoré, who was a teammate of Victor Wembanyama during the 2022-23 season in the Metropolitans 92.
Forward Blake Hinson has a two-way contract to play with the South Bay Lakers of the G-League. Guard Quincy Olivari, who graduated from the Xavier Musketeers, has an Exhibit-10 contract.
They also announced that Max Christie signed up again with the Lakers and will once again participate in the lineup led by LeBron James. Finally, they re-signed center Colin Castleton on a two-way contract.
This is in addition to LeBron James’s extension, who agreed to a new contract worth $104 million to stay with the Lakers for two more years.
What is an Exhibit-10 contract?
An Exhibit 10 contract is a trial period for players, offering them a one-year, minimum-salary NBA contract. Teams can convert this contract into a two-way contract with the player until the start of the regular season.
Teams have the option to change a player’s contract from a non-guaranteed one-year minimum to a two-way contract. Under the two-way contract, the player can receive an Exhibit 10 bonus of up to $50,000. If the player’s contract is converted, they are guaranteed to receive that amount.
