Will the Mavericks fire Nico Harrison after the season ends?
The Dallas Mavericks fans have been calling on the franchise to fire its GM since the Doncic trade, but will the franchise actually listen?

It’s been two months since the Luka Doncic trade, but the aftermath has not died down. In the immediate aftermath, the team’s social media following went down by 700,000 users. In the next few months, home attendance for the games dipped. And still today, it’s common to hear chants of “Fire Nico” not only at the games, but anywhere in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex.
Mavericks general manager Nico Harrison is responsible for the trade of Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis as he executed the whole ordeal, and owners Patrick Dumont and Miriam Adelson signed off on it.
Mark Cuban: "If I had any influence, the trade wouldn't happen. I was just as dumbfounded as everybody else. After I sold the Mavericks, the new owner Patrick Dumont decided that 'Ok, in Nico we trust.' So, here we are."

Perhaps the fan rage would have died down had the Mavs stayed healthy and made a playoff run, but alas, they did not. Instead, they lost nine of their starters to injuries, one of which was AD himself in his debut, and another of which was Kyrie Irving to a season-ending injury. It got so bad that it looked like the Mavs might have to forfeit games, something that’s never happened before in the history of the NBA.
Considering all of this, could Nico Harrison actually be fired by the end of this season?
Nico Harrison firing, a reality?
The Mavericks fans are not happy - that much is clear. And it doesn’t seem there’s much Harrison can do to win them over again at this point. The entire organization is risking losing a huge chunk of its fanbase.

The reality of Harrison being fired may actually depend on the fans now. The Mavericks need to fire him if they want to prove to their fans that they do care and are listening to them.
But if they don’t? They could risk losing profits and hurting the bottom line. And if that’s the case, it’ll be a business decision they’ll have to face to win back their fans, despite the fact that the damage is done.
