WNBA Playoffs round 1 complete schedule: dates and times of every game
The Women’s National Basketball Association playoffs are set to start on Sunday, and all four games of the first round are on the program.
The WNBA Playoffs usually start in late September, but in years of the FIBA World Cup, they begin in August. The top eight teams by regular-season record qualify for the playoffs, regardless of conference alignment. Since 2022, the playoffs have been held in a standard knockout format, with best-of-three series in the first round and best-of-five series in the semifinals and finals.
The quarterfinals follow a typical 8-team tournament bracket, with the winners advancing to the semifinals. The semifinals and finals use a 2–2–1 home-court pattern.
What are the matchups of the 2024 WNBA playoffs?
The Atlanta Dream, seeded No. 8, will face the top-seeded New York Liberty. The No. 3 Connecticut Sun will host the No. 6 seed Indiana Fever, featuring rookie Caitlin Clark. The final opening-round matchup will be between the two-time defending champion Las Vegas Aces, seeded No. 4, and the fifth-seeded Seattle Storm.
Las Vegas aims to become the first team to win three titles in a row since Houston achieved four straight wins in the first four seasons of the WNBA, from 1997 to 2000. The final playoff spot was decided on the last day of the regular season. Atlanta secured its spot with a 78-67 victory over New York, which had already clinched the top seed.
