Avocados from Mexico Cure Bowl

Appalachian State vs Miami (Ohio)

The Cure Bowls of the last four years have all been very close games. The upcoming game between the Miami (OH) RedHawks and the Appalachian State Mountaineers may continue this trend.

According to college football analysts, the Mountaineers are favored over the RedHawks. Despite winning the MAC Championship with their excellent defense, Chuck Martin’s RedHawks will need to maintain their defensive dominance in what could be a low-scoring game. This will be especially important given their quarterback situation.

LA Bowl hosted by Gronk

UCLA vs Boise State

This weekend, two college football programs will meet for only the second time in their history. The first meeting was in 1999 when UCLA defeated Boise State 38-7 at the Rose Bowl. The Bruins have had a rough season-ending, losing their last game 33-7 to in-state rival Cal. UCLA started the season strong with a 6-2 record but finished it with a disappointing 4-5 record in conference play. On the other hand, Boise State is on an upward trajectory after a rocky start to their season. The Broncos were in danger of having their first losing season since 1997, but with the help of interim coach Spencer Danielson, they managed to finish the season with a three-game winning streak.

On the other hand, Texas Tech’s season came to a close with a crushing 57-7 loss against #7 Texas, where they failed even to cover the 16.5-point spread as underdogs.
