College football player arrested after stabbing two UAB teammates
The University of Alabama, Birmingham has confirmed that two Blazers players were attacked ahead of a home game against South Florida.

The University of Alabama, Birmingham has confirmed that there was a stabbing on campus involving three members of the schools’ football program.
ESPN reports that a UAB player attacked two of his Blazers teammates on Saturday morning, just hours before the team’s home game against South Florida.
A university spokesperson has confirmed that the suspect has been arrested, while both injured players have been taken to hospital. As of Saturday afternoon, both are believed to be in a stable condition.

UAB has not released the names of any of the players involved but college sports website On3 has identified the suspect as Daniel Mincey, an affensive lineman who transferred from Kentucky earlier this year. Mincey has reportedly been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and attempted murder.
The school has confirmed that an investigation in ongoing, saying: “UAB’s top priority remains the safety and well-being of all of our students.”
Despite the tragic scenes at the football facility on Saturday morning, the school did not move to postpone the game against South Florida.
