Gonzaga vs UConn: The Lay of the land

The Huskies are easily one of the most efficient offensive teams left in the tournament and that was evidenced by the way in which they dismantled Arkansas in the Sweet 16. Behind sophomore guard Jordan Hawkins and junior forward Adama Sanogo, this team has been machine like in every department. The only problem for UConn is that they’re about to take on a team that possesses a force of nature. Drew Timme has been nothing short of sensational for the Bulldogs and his 36 points against highly favored UCLA only served to cement the point. On the other hand, it could just be that their less than stellar defense proves to be their undoing.

Gonzaga vs UConn: The Prediction

Given that both teams have some serious firepower in the offensive department, it stands to reason that this one is going to come down to which defense can hold firm. As mentioned above, the Bulldogs aren’t great on ‘D’ so expect them to have their hands full with a Huskies team that boasts a player in red hot form right now, Adama Sanogo. Ultimately, while we believe it may be a close one, we’re going with the Huskies to beat the Bulldogs to the finish line with an 81-77 score.
