In the age of social media and quick takes on complex situations, there is often the risk of inaccuracy when it comes to judgment. Indeed, where the former LSU signal-caller is concerned, that seems to be exactly what he is trying to say after he pushed back on concerns about his elbow.

Jayden Daniels’ elbow is just fine

As you probably know, former LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is easily one of this year’s best players such that it’s almost certain that he will be selected with one of the first picks in the 2024 NFL Draft. Now, while it remains unclear as to where exactly he’s heading, the Washington Commanders have been heavily linked with him. Yet, it’s not Daniels’ potential landing spot that was the talking point this past week, but rather the elbow of his throwing arm.

In a report from NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport, a photo of Daniels throwing the football during a game was used, and let’s just say the angle was not at all flattering where his elbow specifically was concerned. Needless to say, it wasn’t long before many were voicing their concerns on social media about the QB’s arm, and we can admit that the photo did look a little strange. On the other hand, we can safely say that whatever folks believe may or may not be wrong with his arm, has in no way hindered his play.

Do recall that following his transfer from Arizona State, Daniels went on to win the Heisman Trophy this past campaign, and quite frankly, he was the only logical choice for the award. Dominating both in the air and on the ground, Daniels posted the highest passer efficiency rating in FBS history (208.0), while leading the FBS in total yards per game (412.2), and total touchdowns per game (4.2) as well. Yes, that figure led all FBS quarterbacks in yards per attempt (11.7) and yards per rush (8.4). Naturally, Daniels himself didn’t hesitate to let fans know that his arm is perfectly fine. Now, we can only wait to see him prove that in the NFL.
