Memphis vs Utah State: preview

Memphis and Utah State are both appearing in their maiden First Responder Bowl after registering 6-6 regular-season records.

The Tigers began the campaign in fine form, and were 4-1 after five games. However, they then won just two of their next seven.

The Aggies’, on the other hand, took exactly the opposite path to their 6-6 record. Blake Anderson’s men were 1-4 after their fifth game, before winning five out of their following seven fixtures.

First Responder Bowl history

First held in 2011, the First Responder Bowl has always been won by a different team. Only North Texas have featured in the fixture more than once, the Mean Green beating the UNLV Rebels in 2014 and losing to the Army Black Knights in 2016.
