Update:

The Miami Hurricanes delivered a shock on Thursday night, defeating the Ole Miss Rebels 31–27 in the College Football Playoff semifinal at the Fiesta Bowl, and now await the winner of the other semifinal between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Oregon Ducks.

Quarterback Carson Beck capped the decisive drive – the one that completed the comeback – with a three-yard touchdown run with just 18 seconds remaining. The Rebels still had a chance to steal the game, but their hopes ended when quarterback Trinidad Chambliss overthrew a deep pass in the final moments.

Miami now has a chance to win a national title at home, at Hard Rock Stadium, which it shares with the Miami Dolphins, on January 19. It would mark the first time a college football team has played the national championship game in its own stadium – and, if successful, the Hurricanes’ first national title since 2001.
