NCAA football: How much is Caleb William’s NIL deal worth? USC Trojan QB’s valuation
Caleb Williams is expected to go first in the NFL draft next year, and his NIL appreciation has shot up.
Thanks to the newfound ability for athletes to cash in on their own fame, we’re about to witness a touchdown of financial proportions. The top returning college football players gear up to collect their well-deserved paychecks. It’s time to turn those touchdowns into dollar signs!
Because college players are required to play for three years before they can enter the draft, Caleb Williams had no other option but to go back to USC for the 2023 season. According to Pro Football Focused, Williams would have been chosen as the first overall pick in April if all college players from last season were allowed to go pro.
But what is Caleb William’s NIL deal worth?
Pete Nakos, On3.com’s College Sports Business Reporter, just revised his NIL Valuations. Williams was placed fifth overall in these appraisals, with a value of $2.6 million.
The Jacksonville Jaguars chose Travon Walker from Georgia as the first overall pick in the previous season. He agreed to a contract as a rookie player valued at $41.4 million. This contract also included a signing bonus of $27.3 million. Walker’s annual salary is $3.5 million after receiving a bonus.
We can only imagine what Caleb can get in the coming year, given he would have gone as the first pick.
