Who are the 2023 Heisman Trophy candidates?
Since 1935, the Heisman Trophy has been awarded to the most outstanding player in college football. Here are the candidates for the 2023 collegiate season.

Who are the 2023 Heisman Trophy candidates?
It’s got to be said that the 2023′s list of Heisman Trophy candidates is perhaps one of the most exciting in recent years. For starters, we’ve got a whole load of quarterbacks, including the player who won the award just last year, USC’s signal caller Caleb Williams. Yet, there is also Hall of Famer and the current coach of Colardo Deion Sander’s son, Shedeur Sanders, who has been nothing short of sensational over the last year and this season.
They are joined by players such as the very talented J.J. McCarthy out of Michigan and the live wire that is Oregon’s Box Nix. Of course, there will likely be many takes on who will finally be crowned college football’s best player between now and when the season ends in November, but we’re pretty sure it will come down to a handful of names. So, who are the favorites to win the 2023 Heisman Trophy?
Following tradition, quarterbacks dominate the candidates for this year’s Heisman Trophy.
This year’s quarterbacks are some of the best we have seen in a long time. Despite an excellent performance by Oregon’s quarterback Bo Nix, there’s a new player in contention for the trophy. LSU’s QB Jayden Daniels made a massive move up the oddsboard on Saturday night, surpassing Washington’s QB Michael Penix Jr. Daniels is now the new co-favorite with Nix to win college football’s most prestigious award. Michael Penix Jr. from Washington is just behind them. Georgia’s Carson Beck has an impressive 160.2 rating.
However, Ohio State receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. saw his odds decrease after only catching three passes for 30 yards and a TD in Ohio State’s 37-3 win over Minnesota. Ultimately, the competition will be tight, just like when this class enters the 2024 NFL Draft. It’s worth keeping an eye on them.
