With the conclusion of championship weekend, the final College Football Playoff rankings and matchups have been announced, plus which teams are playing in which bowl games.

The NCAA bowl season kicks off on Saturday, December 14 and concludes on Monday, January 20, 2025 with the College Football Playoff National Championship Game.

This year marks the inaugural year of the 12-team College Football Playoffs. In this new format, the five highest-ranked conference champions will play along the next seven highest-ranked teams. The four highest-ranked conference champions are awarded first-round byes and the other eight teams meet at the campuses of the No. 5-8 seeds. The quarterfinals and semifinals will be played in previous years' New Year’s Six bowls and the national championship will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.

Alabama and Miami were the first and second teams to be out of the College Football Playoff.
