Bueckers began her college basketball career at the University of Connecticut in 2020 and since then, she’s accrued a long list of accolades and exceeded the extremely high standards of UCONN basketball. She’s just got one thing missing - an NCAA championship.
Paige Bueckers’ quest for an NCAA Title does not define her college career
Bueckers is in her senior year at UCONN and recently confirmed that she will enter the WNBA Draft this year. That means she’s playing her last games in a Huskies jersey, and this is her last chance to make it to the NCAA championship.
If she doesn’t make it, however, her head coach Geno Auriemma, made sure she knows that her impact on the team will be no less.
“You don’t owe anybody anything,” Auriemma told Bueckers. “And if you don’t play another game ever at the University of Connecticut, you’ve given them way more than they bargained for when you got here, regardless of what anybody thinks.”
Geno Auriemma is apparently denying that the viral video of him getting emotional of Paige Bueckers is actually him getting emotional 😂

Bueckers and the Huskies are set to play Oklahoma in the Sweet 16 on Saturday after two dominating victories over Arkansas State and SD State in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament.
Whether they make it to the title or not, Bueckers is expected to be the first overall pick in the upcoming 2025 WNBA Draft with the Dallas Wings with the No. 1 selection.
