The Georgia Bulldogs seek to prove for the second consecutive year that they are the best team in college football. To do this, they must defeat the TCU Horned Frogs in the CFP National Championship.

The match will take place on Monday, Jan. 9 at the SoFI Stadium in Inglewood, California. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET / 4:30 p.m. PT and the game will be broadcast by ESPN.

Georgia is favored to win by 12.5 points in a game in which both universities are expected to end with high scores (+/- 62.5).

Here are the players to watch in the CFP National Championship.

Jalen Carter, Georgia, DT

Carter has the size and ability to anchor the Bulldogs’ defensive line. In three years at Georgia, the defensive tackle has had 81 tackles, 18.5 of them for loss of yards, and 6.0 sacks. Also, in 2022 he was named All-American.

Quentin Johnston, TCU, WR

Johnston’s speed is a threat to opposing teams as he averages 19.2 yards per reception at the college level. After two low-key years, the 21-year-old wide receiver has recorded 59 receptions for 1,066 yards and six touchdowns in 2022.

Stetson Bennett, Georgia, QB

Bennett has managed Kirby Smart's offense excellently. The quarterback has completed 292 of the 430 passes he's attempted in the 14 games he's played this year and had 3,823 yards with 23 touchdown passes and seven interceptions.

Max Duggan, TCU, QB

Duggan does not stand out for the power of his arm, but for his mobility when pressured. His 32 passing and eight rushing touchdowns made him part of the finalists to win the 2022 Heisman.

Christopher Smith, Georgia, BC

Smith was selected as an All-American in 2022 after proving he is one of the best defensive backs in the nation. The Atlanta native made 42 tackles, defended five passes and recorded three interceptions.

Kendre Miller, TCU, RB

The running back is listed as questionable for the CFP final for an as yet undisclosed reason. Although he didn’t make it to the end zone against the Michigan Wolverines in the semifinal, Miller is the Horned Frogs’ leader in touchdowns with 17.
