Update:

No. 3 Texas Tech will head to the Elite Eight to face the No. 1 Florida Gators this Saturday after a thrilling overtime win over the Arkansas Razorbacks on Thursday.

Arkansas looked like they had the Sweet 16 game in the bag as they maintained the lead the majority of the game. The Red Raiders were down by 16 points at one point and went on a 16-3 run to make the comeback. By the end of the fourth quarter, the game was tied 72-72, sending it into overtime.

Tech was able to take the victory, ending the game 79-78, with the second-largest comeback in Sweet 16 history.

Largest comeback in NCAA Sweet 16 history

Tech’s 16-point Sweet 16 comeback is bested by only UCLA, who made a 17-point comeback against Gonzaga in 2006 during their Sweet 16 round of March Madness.

That game will forever be remembered for its dramatic finish and the unforgettable image of Gonzaga’s Adam Morrison crumbled on the floor in tears.

Gonzaga was leading 42-29 at halftime, but UCLA staged an incredible comeback, closing a 71-62 deficit with aggressive defense, forcing turnovers and taking the lead with a late go-ahead layup from Luc Richard Mbah a Moute. UCLA won 73-71.
