How UConn, Illinois, Michigan and Arizona reached the Final Four
In the West Regional Final, Arizona secured a statement win over the Purdue Boilermakers, prevailing 79-64 to reach the Final Four for the first time since 2001, in a performance that firmly validated their championship aspirations.
In the South, Illinois also ended a long drought. The Fighting Illini beat the Iowa Hawkeyes 71-59 in the Elite Eight to return to the Final Four for the first time since 2005, completing one of the tournament’s most compelling storylines.
Michigan, meanwhile, left no doubt. The Wolverines posted a dominant triumph over the Tennessee Volunteers in the Midwest Regional Final, winning 95-62. Michigan’s wide margin of victory reflected their control from start to finish and cemented their status as one of the strongest teams left standing.
In the East, the final ticket to the Final Four was handed out in the most dramatic circumstances of all the Elite Eight matchups. UConn mounted a memorable comeback to edge the Duke Blue Devils 73-72, sealing its berth with a decisive play in the closing seconds - one of the most intense finishes of the tournament.
