Who are the top 5-star college football recruits in the country and where will they play this season?

The NCAA season will be defined by the juniors and seniors who are ready to make a real impact in winning this season, but football fans also want to take a look at their team’s new recruits this year and see what the near future looks like. 2023 will bring Archie Manning to Texas, while these are the biggest talents that will come to college football in 2022:

Travis Hunter, Jackson State

A fast and skinny cornerback who can blanket any receiver and make plays on the ball, he stands at 6 ft 1 in and 165 lbs. Generally considered the best recruit this season, Hunter comes from Collins Hill HS and was signed to Jackson State by head coach Deion Sanders, the legendary cornerback who he idolizes: “I want to be the next Deion Sanders. And I’m going to live up to it.” Like Sanders, Hunter is also a two-sport athlete, playing high-level basketball in high school. His physical tools and talent may also grant him some playing time as a wide receiver.

Walter Nolen, Texas A&M

Nolen is a defensive lineman who can be in charge of both stopping the opposing team’s running game and terrorizing their quarterback. At 6 ft 4 in and 315 lbs, he will try to be a force right from the beginning in Texas A&M, and if he stays in shape will hear his name called in the early rounds of the NFL Draft.

Luther Burden, Missouri

A WR whose speed and footwork will get him playing time as soon as he gets used to the college playbook. At 6 ft 0 in and 200 lbs, it will be Burden’s development which will make him more of an outfield or slot receiver in the coming years.

Mykel Williams, Georgia

Another impressively built defensive lineman, Mykel Williams combines his weight and strength with a degree of speed that will make him a contributor in one of the NCAA’s most competitive programs.

Domani Jackson, USC

The Trojans have recruited one of the best cornerbacks in this class, a player with both physical range and speed that can be in charge of covering great chunks of the field by himself. Jackson still has areas in which he needs to improve, such as man-to-man coverage, but he will be a contributor on the field sooner rather than later.

Sonny Styles, Ohio State

The Buckeyes did not have that hard a time recruiting Styles, a local kid who was born in Ohio and went to Pickerington HS. He will slot in as one of their best defenders at safety. He can be deployed both in zone coverage and near the defensive linemen.
