Update:

This decision follows an external review that revealed Anderson’s noncompliance with Title IX policies, specifically regarding the reporting of sexual misconduct cases.

The investigation, conducted in the spring of 2023, found that Anderson failed to adhere to university policies that mandate the full and timely reporting of disclosures of sexual misconduct, including domestic violence. These policies also prohibit employees from investigating such disclosures themselves. Anderson’s actions were deemed to have violated both his employment agreement and university regulations

In addition to Anderson, two other staff members were also dismissed: Jerry Bovee, associate Vice President and Deputy Athletic Director of External Affairs, who served as Interim Athletic Director in 2023 and Austin Albrecht, director of Player Development and Community for the football program.

Interim leadership at Utah State

Defensive Coordinator Nate Dreiling has been appointed as the interim head coach for the upcoming season. This move aims to provide stability and continuity for the team during this transitional period1.
