Update:

The Sugar Bowl, due to be played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana on Wednesday, January 1, has officially been postponed after 15 people were killed in the city earlier on New Year’s Day when a man drove a pickup truck into a crowd of people in Bourbon Street.

Initially, it seemed as if the college football bowl game between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish had been set to go ahead as planned, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT.

However, as time passed on Wednesday, it came to light that the Sugar Bowl Committee had been in discussions with authorities about the safest way to move forward.
