2022 NFL season: which teams are favourites to win Super Bowl LVII?

As the days go by the start of the 2022 NFL season draws closer. And with just over two months to go until the new campaign gets underway, it is the Buffalo Bills and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are leading the betting when it comes to the chief candidates to win Super Bowl LVII.

According to BetMGM, the Bills are the favourites to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy, with the Buccaneers just behind Buffalo. The podium is completed by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Brady return catapults Bucs up list of Super Bowl contenders

With Josh Allen at quarterback, Buffalo have made it to the Playoffs in the last three years, reaching the AFC Championship Game in the 2020 season. As for Tampa Bay, their odds of a third NFL championship were slashed significantly when superstar QB Tom Brady reversed his decision to retire from playing. When Before Brady’s return, the Bucs were rated at +2500.

Super Bowl LVI winners the Los Angeles Rams are fourth on the list, with the top five championship contenders rounded off by the Green Bay Packers.

High hopes for Raiders after Adams trade

Two teams from the AFC West division find themselves just inside the top 10: the Denver Broncos and the Las Vegas Raiders. Davante Adams’ arrival in Las Vegas has raised expectations in the betting houses, while the Broncos’ odds of success have fallen after they brought in quarterback Russell Wilson.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns are an interesting case. They’re currently rated as 15th-most likely to win the NFL title, but that is in no small part down to the presence of Deshaun Watson. Were the QB to be banned by the league, the Browns’ chances would take a major hit.

Fellow AFC North team the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have replaced legendary quarterback Ben Roethlisberger with Kenny Pickett, are also considered outsiders.

Super Bowl LVII is to be held on 12 February 2023 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
