49ers 34 - 3 Jaguars summary, stats, scores and highlights | NFL Week 10
The Niners capped the game off with this 22 yard Purdy pass to Juszczyk to put an exclamation mark on their blow out win over the Jags. The only thing the Niners didn't do against the Jags was get Christian McCaffery into the endzone, which snapped his TD streak at 17 games, tying him with the all time record of 17 with Lenny Moore.
Purdy ended the game with 296 yards and three TDs on 19/26 passing.
The Jags were inside the Niners 10 yards line, but Christian Kirk was stripped and the Niners recovered it and took it back for a TD, although the run back was taken off the board after the Niners sidelinen was flagged for coming on the field while the play was still going on. It only delayed the inevitable, as Deebo Samuel got into the endzone on a 23 yard sprint on the end around. Samuel had missed the previous three games, and his presence was noted on Sunday against the Jags.
We talked about the Jags being a young team that makes mistakes in the pregame preview. They hadn't been made to pay for those mistakes over the last five games, but the Niners punished them. Hufanga came up with the pick off the bobbled pass by Etienne.
The Niners turned it on in the second half, and they didn't wait around to do so. Purdy hit Kittle for this 65 yard TD on the second play of the half. The Niners offense was called into question over the last month, but Purdy and San Fran were back to full strength and it showed.
The Niners D line was already good, but the we got our first look at what they are going to look like with the addition of Chase Young, and it was scary. Bosa and Young got to Lawrence on this strip sack on one of the 4 turnovers that the Niners forced at TIAA Bank Field.
Both teams came off Week 9 BYEs but the Jags looked like they were still on their week off on Sunday in Jacksonville. San Fran forced a three and out on the first series of the game, and then Brock Purdy found Brandon Aiyuk in the back of the endzone with this dangerous pass through traffic.

Darnold's pass to the right side for McCaffery was batted away by Williams and the Niners will turn it over on downs, and McCaffery is going to most likely be stuck on 17 straight games with a TD, which is tied for most ever with Lenny Moore.

McCaffery is swallowed up for a loss of 2 yards and history is on the line on 4th and 5.
McCaffery makes the catch on the right side and lowers his shoulder to get a couple yards closer to the endzone.

McCaffery gets the pitch to the left side and picks up a yard. The Niners have one mission right now and that's get McCaffery in the endzone with a chance at history.

Mitchell gets the toss to the left side again, and he is dropped after a gain of a yard.

FUMBLE!!!
Kirk made the catch on the left side and tried to fight for extra yardage, but was stripped by Thomas and he recovered it, didn't ever get touched by Jacksonville and he took it all the way back for a 92 yard run back but an unsportsmanlike conduct flag will take that touchdown off the board!
There is still some confusion between the refs as to if the TD should count or no, but the fumble will stand.
Lawrence goes for Ridley in the corner of the endzone but that pass was too heavy.

Joey Bosa and Chase Young are going to terrorize the NFL after the Niners got the EDGE rusher from Washington before their BYE. This is just a taste of what's to come with these two on both sides of the San Fran pass rush.
Lawrence has been sacked 3 times, and is 9/13 for 93 yards.
The Niners had a brilliant start to the game, forcing the Jags into a three and out and then driving right down the field and capping their TD drive with this pass across the field from Purdy to Aiyuk.

This isn't what you would call a text book pass, but somehow, some way Purdy snuck it through a mass of defenders and found Aiyuk with a dangerous pass across the field. Great start for the Niners.

Young’s Niners debut
It was one of the biggest deals of the trade deadline. The Niners defense got even better and bigger, with the addition of Chase Young who was dealt from Washington to San Francisco in a trade that included a couple of draft picks going to the Commanders. He’s had a week to get to know his teammates and understand the schemes the Niners run, and now it’s time to show what he can add to this D line that has been having trouble getting to opposing quarterbacks.
Trent and Deebo back
No one needed a BYE week like the Niners did. Aside from losing three straight games, they were banged up with injuries to a couple of their most important players. Deebo Samuel went down with a shoulder injury against the Cleveland Browns in the Niners first loss of the season. He was not available for the next two games, but he is back today. He is obviously a great player, but he also brings a little swag to this Niners team, and that has been missing over the last few weeks. Another big addition is Trent Williams who had an ankle injury and was unavailable in the Niners loss to the Bengals two weeks ago. Deebo makes the big plays, but Williams provides a security blanket for Brock Purdy and opens up holes for Christian McCaffery on the left side of the O Line.
Purdy showing some weaknesses?
These are some nervy moments for the San Francisco 49ers right now, and it’s not just because they have lost three straight. Brock Purdy, for the first time in his young career, looks rattled. He was immediately crowned a hero in the Bay Area after exploding on to the scene following injuries for the Niners top two QBs last year. He took control of a great team and made them even better. That would carry into the first month of this season, but since then, Mr. Irrelevant has shown signs of his youth and inexperience. Through the first five games of the season he didn’t throw a single INT, and had nine TDs. In the three game losing streak the Niners are currently trying to snap, Purdy has thrown three TDs and 5 INTs, and those picks are coming at awfully inopportune times.
Lawrence maturing before our eyes
The Jaguars are a young team, led by a young quarterback. They will make mistakes and have made mistakes, but maybe the most impressive thing about this team is their ability to bounce back from those mistakes. Trevor Lawrence hasn’t been perfect, neither has the run game, but the defense plays a big part in bailing the offense out when they turn the ball over. Lawrence is going up against what was at one point in the season the scariest looking defense in the league. One of the best ways to measure young QBs is how they perform in big games, and this will be a great barometer the Jags to see if their face of the franchise is ready to win massive matchups.
Jags last game
The Jags rattled off their fifth straight win before heading into their BYE week, and they did it on a cold, rainy night in Pittsburgh. Those are conditions that the Steelers usually thrive on, but the Jags beat them at their own game. It wasn’t a pretty start to the game for Jacksonville. They fumbled the ball and Trevor Lawrence threw an interception in the first half, but the defense locked down the Steelers, and three field goals gave the Jags a 9-3 lead going into the break. Lawrence would put Jacksonville ahead on a 53 yard TD pass to Travis Etienne. The defense would carry the Jags to the win the rest of the way, creating three turnovers on the Steelers final three possessions of the game.
Niners last game
It seems like the Niners haven’t played in ages, and it’s been even longer since they have won a game. Their last game before the BYE week was in Cincinnati and the were given a clinic by Joe Burrow and the Bengals who landed an early blow on the opening drive of the game scoring a TD. Burrow would go on to throw for three TDs, but the Niners kept in the game until late in the third quarter when Brock Purdy threw interceptions on back to back passes. The first one came inside the Bengals 10 yard line as San Fran was down by just a TD. He would throw a pick on the very next offensive play and the Bengals immediately turned that pick into six points with a Jamaar Chase TD catch
