Aaron Rodgers can join elite quarterback club against the Bills

The struggling New York Jets play their final road game of the season on Sunday; potentially the last of Rodgers' career.

The New York Jets may be out of playoff contention but there’s still something to play for in the final two regular season games. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is currently on 499 touchdown passes in the regular season, just one short of a major milestone.

Back in October Rodgers was reunited with wide receiver Davante Adams, who played alongside him with the Green Bay Packers. Adams was on the receiving end of a few other landmark passes and he’s hoping to connect once again on Sunday.

“Obviously, I’d love to,” Adams said of the prospect of catching Rodgers' 500th TD pass. “I got 200, I got 400, so it would be dope to get 500 as well.”

“We’ve had some special connections in the past, so it’d be great,” he continued. “And, obviously, it would be a big, big thing for him. Not that he needs more accolades and more milestones, but you might as well keep racking them up while you can.”

Adams' first-ever NFL touchdown reception came with the Packers in 2014 and just happened to be the 200th thrown by Rodgers. A decade on, both men have improved their numbers significantly.

Which quarterbacks have thrown 500 touchdown passes?

Rodgers, a four-time NFL Most Valuable Player, is nearing the end of his stellar career. He has led the league for touchdown-to-interception ratio in six seasons and is on the brink of joining a very elite club.

The only other players to have thrown 500 touchdown passes are Tom Brady (649), Drew Brees (571), Peyton Manning (539) and Brett Favre (508).

One more touchdown in the final two games of the regular season would see Rodgers join this illustrious club in what could be the final outings of his career. Now 41, Rodgers' current deal with the Jets will expire at the end of the season and he’s yet to confirm his intentions for the 2025 season.

Earlier this week Rodgers said that he would consider remaining at the Jets alongside a younger starting QB. Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show he said: "I haven’t decided whether or not I want to play moving forward, and they haven’t told me what their plans are."
