Update:

Aaron Rodgers achieved it all in 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, where he cemented his legacy as one of the NFL’s greatest quarterbacks. But for the first time in his long career, the 41-year-old will face his former team in the 2025 season as quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a challenge he says he’s looking forward to rather than dreading.

The 2025 NFL schedule has Pittsburgh taking on all four teams from the NFC North (the Bears, Lions, Packers and Vikings), the division Rodgers dominated for nearly two decades in Green Bay.

Rodgers targets rare NFL milestone

If the Steelers defeat the Packers, Rodgers would become just the fifth player in NFL history to beat all 32 teams. The only others to achieve that feat are Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Tom Brady and Drew Brees, elite company by any standard.

Despite his long-standing ties to Green Bay, the four-time MVP admitted to SI’s Bill Huber that the idea of finally playing against his old team excites him. “It’ll be fun to beat them, for sure, because I would’ve beaten every team, and because you’re trying to win all your games.”

Still, Rodgers said that beyond the competition, reconnecting with so many familiar faces will make the game memorable regardless of the result. “It’ll be good to see so many people. Some of the people I’m most excited to see, honestly, are the guys who were with me all 18 years – mostly training room guys, equipment staff guys. It’ll be fun to see some of those guys. That’ll be exciting.”

When do the Steelers play the Packers in 2025?

Pittsburgh will host Green Bay in Week 8 of the 2025 NFL season. The game is scheduled for Sunday, October 26, with kickoff set for 8:20 p.m. ET.
