Adrian Peterson and Le’Veon Bell were two of the best running backs in the NFL during the decade between 2010 and 2019. Now their futures appear to be moving away from gridiron and towards the boxing ring.

Peterson, Bell set for LA exhibition

The news outlet TMZ Sports has reported that the veteran NFL stars are poised to face off in an exhibition boxing bout at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on 30 July, as part of the ‘No More Talk’ event organised by the YouTuber Austin McBroom and the promoters Social Gloves Entertainment.

While Bell is already locked in for the ‘No More Talk’ fight card, TMZ says, Peterson is in negotiations with a view to becoming the 30-year-old’s opponent.

As it’s an exhibition match, it won’t count as their professional debuts. Recently, Frank Gore, a former NFL running back, made his bow as a boxer with a win over the Nigerian Yaya Olorunsola.

Neither Peterson nor Bell has retired from the NFL. Having played in the league in the 2021 season, the pair are currently free agents. Peterson featured in three games for the Tennessee Titans and one for the Seattle Seahawks, while Bell appeared five times for the Baltimore Ravens and on three occasions for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Also on the ‘No More Talk’ fight card

In addition to the bout between the two running backs, ‘No More Talk’ - whose fight card is not yet complete - will include a fight between the former NBA player Nick Young, alias ‘Swaggy P’, and the influencer and rapper Blueface.

What’s more, the rappers PnB Rock and DDG are also on a fight card that’s headlined by the clash between YouTubers Austin McBroom and AnEson Gib.
