Aidan Hutchinson’s leg injury update: How long will be the Lions’ DE be out?
Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson suffered a gruesome leg injury in their Week 6 game against the Dallas Cowboys. How long will he be out?
The Detroit Lions were on their way to bagging a big win over the Dallas Cowboys during their Week 6 matchup. However, this victory csme at a steep cost, with Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson going down with a leg injury and needing to be carted off the field.
After sacking Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott early in the second half of the game, Hutchinson remained on the ground in apparent pain. His left leg had hit Lions defensive tackle Alim McNeill before he went down.

His leg appeared to snap above the ankle in what looked to be a serious injury. He was quickly ruled out of the game with a lower leg injury, which is likely a season-ending injury.
Fox did not show a replay of the play where Hutchinson suffered the injury, as Hutchinson’s leg was positioned at an unusual and painful angle.
The Lions’ medical crew stabilized his leg in an air cast before he was carted off.
Hutchinson has been one of the strong early contenders for NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year award for his performance this season.
After the game concluded, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Hutchinson was taken to a hospital and underwent surgery immediately. The Lions are saying that the injury is a broken tibia.
