Running back Alvin Kamara was charged with assault in February 2022 at the NFL Pro Bowl in Las Vegas and could now face a suspension by commissioner Roger Goodell.

According to a report by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, Kamara and the commissioner will meet in New York to discuss the incident that took place over Pro Bowl weekend and whether he will be suspended. The RB’s sanction will be based on NFL conduct policies, which do not require a criminal conviction to sanction a player.

After being charged with breach of peace for the incident with Darnell Greene, the New Orleans Saints running was punished with 30 hours of community service and had to pay $105,000 for the victim’s medical expenses.

Kamara is a six-year veteran who has been a five-time Pro Bowler. Over the course of his career, the former Tennessee Voluteer has played 88 games and totaling 8,888 yards and 71 touchdowns.

The first games of the Saints in 2023

The Saints’ 2023 season opener will be at Caesars Superdome against the Tennessee Titans on September 10. In the Week 2 they will travel to Carolina to take on the Panthers in a Monday Night Football divisional duel.

The Saints’ road trip will continue in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers and they return to New Orleans to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 4 of activity. Kamara’s suspension could stretch to as many as six games so he would also miss visits to New England and Houston for Weeks 5 and 6.
