Bears 12-10 Vikings summary, stats, scores and highlights | NFL Week 12
The Bears didn't score any touchdowns in Minnesota on Monday night. Instead it was Cairo Santos who hit four field goals after missing his first attempt of the night. It was the first time all season that a team won a game without scoring a single touchdown, and it moved the Bears to 4-8 while dropping the Vikings to 6-6 heading into their BYE week.
Justin Fields spent most of the night throwing short pass behind the line of scrimmage or screen passes but when it mattered most the dual threat QB threw a strike to DJ Moore down to the 13 to set up the game winning field goal.
Justin Fields, who is fighting for his starting job in Chicago for the final few games of the season, fumbled on a second straight possession, but the defense would hold strong and give him one more chance to set up a game winning drive.
Four minutes later Dobbs hit T.J. Hockenson on a 17 yard strike over the middle to give the Vikings their first lead of the game with under 6:00 to go. Dobbs went 22/32 for 185 yards and a TD, but Monday night was the first time in the QB's career that he threw four INTs.
After the fourth Dobbs interception, the Bears had a chance to pull ahead by two scores, which should have been enough in such a low scoring game, but Justin Fields fumbled and gave the Vikings new life.
Dobbs' fourth pick of the night hit off the hands of Justin Jones and into the hands of Kyler Gordon, but for as many opportunities that the Bears defense gave their offense Justin Fields couldn't take advantage of good field position all night.
It's tough to blame Dobbs for his second interception that hit Jordan Addison right in the hands before falling into the hands of TJ Edwards. Before their final drive of the first half that resulted in a FG, the Vikings had just 24 yards of offense and Dobbs had two picks.
The Bears came into their game against the Vikings on a 12 game losing streak in the NFC North, dating back to 2021. They have their eye set on two Top 5 picks in the upcoming draft, but they also want to see this team improve over the final stretch of the season. The defense showed up against the Vikings offense which was basically non existent in the first half. Jaylon Johnson came up with the first big play of the night for the Chicago D, picking Josh Dobbs to start what would be a rough night for the former Arizona Cardinal.
IT'S ALL OVER!!!

Tonight's odds
The Vikings return home as 3 point favorites over the Chicago Bears with the Over/Under set at 43.5.
You have to think the Bears are going to come out and put up a fight. They looked good last week against the Lions and I think they come into US Bank Stadium and stun the Vikings today.
CHI win 23-16.
NFC North blues
The Bears have become accustomed to losing over the last few seasons. They haven’t had a winning season since 2018 and that was their only one since 2013. They are used to long losing streaks, in face earlier this year they snapped a 14 game losing streak that dated back to Week 7 of last year. While that’s brutal their division losing streak is an even tougher pill for Bears fan to swallow. The Lions, Packers and Vikings are mortal enemies, and losing to them stings much more than losing to any other team. They are on a 12 game losing streak in the NFC North, dating back to late in the 2021 season when the Bears beat the Lions in Week 12. There will be no playoffs, even if the Bears win tonight, but you have to think they are desperate to put an end to the losing spell against their fiercest rivals.
Jefferson coming back... soon
It’s crazy to think that the Vikings have been on this amazing turnaround largely without one of the best WRs in the league. Justin Jefferson injured his hamstring in their Monday Night game against the Chiefs in Week 5, and has been placed on IR since. At the time of his injury, the Vikings are 1-4, and losing one of the top players in the league didn’t bode well. Since then, Kirk Cousins went down with a season ending injury, but that hasn’t stopped the Vikings resurgence. Jefferson won’t play tonight, but he is most likely scheduled for a return after Minnesota’s BYE week. That will be a big boost for an offense that has been hanging on in his absence.
NFC Standings
Having a look at the NFC standings coming into tonight, we see the Lions at the top of the NFC North at 8-3 while and the Vikings are right behind them at 6-5. They have a BYE week next week which means that they can get healthy and Josh Dobbs will have another week to get even more comfortable in the Vikings offense. There was a moment when there seemed like there was no chance the Vikings had a chance for a playoff spot, but can still eye the division title with two games against the Lions coming up in their final six games. The Bears are essentially out of the race for the postseason and they will be looking at the bottom of the standing to see what kind of Draft pick with their (most likely) No. 1 overall pick that awaits them following their trade with the Panthers last year.
Chi-town's QB of the future?
It’s been a rough season, rough year, and rough stint in Chicago for QB Justin Fields. This year he has had to battle through a thumb injury, bad results and speculation about his future. The Bears are likely to have two Top 5 picks in the upcoming draft, and could very well be taking a QB if things don’t pick up on the offensive side of the ball. Fields has missed four games so his numbers are a bit skewed, but so far this year he has thrown for 1.370 yards, 12 TD and 6 INTs and ran for another 341 yards and a TD. It’s hard to place all the blame on Fields, who has had no consistency with head coaches or offensive coordinators. He has six more games to try to convince the front offices and fans that he is the quarterback of the future.
The new King of the North
What Josh Dobbs is doing in Minnesota is nothing short of miraculous, but when you consider he is a rocket scientist and a genius it shouldn’t surprise us too much. What should surprise us is why it’s taken so long to arrive on the scene. He has been in the league since 2018 when he was a back up for Ben Rothlisberger. He was there until 2020, and his next team was Tennessee who signed him last season. He barley played in Pittsburgh, got a couple starts last year with the Titans, but we got our first good look at him in Arizona. When Kirk Cousins went down with an achilles injury Minnesota came calling, but not even they could have imagined how quickly he would fit in with the Vikes. He has 647 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT and 131 yard and three TDs rushing. Minnesota are 2-1 with him under center and are currently holding one of the three Wild Card spots in the NFC.
Bears last week
The Bears might have lost in heartbreaking fashion last week, but it was almost the perfect performance for Chicago. They outplayed the Lions for 56 minutes and were up 12 points in the final moments of the game but a late game collapse cost the Bears their third win of the season. Justin Fields had 169 yards passing and and TD and another 104 yards on the ground, while the defense turned the Lions over four times, but it wasn’t enough to fend off two late TDs and a game sealing safety in the final three minutes of the game.
Vikings last week
Minnesota suffered a late game loss last Sunday night in Denver. It was only Josh Dobb’s third start with Minnesota, and he had the Vikings in position to win in the final few minutes of the game. The Broncos defense and special teams carried Denver for the first 57 minutes, putting Russell Wilson and the offense in a position to win the game with a with their only touchdown of the night. Wilson led a perfectly timed TD drive that finshed off with a 15 yard TD pass to the left pylon to take the lead with 1:03 to go. Minnesota had a chance to take the lead, but an intentional grounding call backed the Vikings up to 4th and 25 and Dobbs pass to Osborn fell incomplete.
We are live from US Bank
Hello everyone and welcome to Minnesota where the Vikings are looking to get back to their winning ways after having their five game win streak snapped by the Denver Broncos last week. They have had a massive turnaround after a 1-4 start to the season and despite losing their starting quarterback for the season, have a great shot at getting a playoff spot in the NFC. The Bears playoff chances are slim if existent at all. They are torn between wanting to improve this young team and eyeing a high draft pick. Bears fans are torn between winning games, and staying at the bottom of the league which will ensure them a Top 5 pick in the upcoming draft.
Bears vs. Vikings
