Update:

Despite what you might think, there is more going on in the NFL than just the conference championship games and the lead up to the Super Bowl. Coaches are being hired for openings around the league, and Pete Carroll got a warm welcome from one of his former players in the opening press conference with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Lynch pops in Carroll’s presser

The Raiders are coming off of a dreadful season in which they were at the bottom of the barrel in the AFC all year. The rough season cost Antonio Pierce his job, and created an opening for former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll to come in and turn things around in Sin City.

Carroll introduced himself to Las Vegas fans and media in his first press conference as a Raider and he had a special guest in attendance. His former running back with the Seahawks, Marshawn Lynch, gave his coach a warm welcome with a screeching shout of “RAIDERSSSSS” as coach Carroll addressed the problems the franchise has had attracting local fans to the stadium following their move from Oakland.

Lynch a lifelong Raider

Carroll and Lynch spent six years together in Seattle and brought the franchise their first Super Bowl back in 2014. They were a yard away from a second Super Bowl a year later.

Lynch would go on to join the Raiders back when they were in Oakland a season after the Super Bowl heartbreak. Lynch grew up in Oakland and was a Raiders fan growing up, and still is a Raiders fan as he repeatedly admits on his Da Get Got podcast.

Carroll has his work cut out joining a Raiders team that went 4-13 last season. They had one of the worst offenses in the league a season after the franchise cut ties with Derek Carr and never replaced him. The Raiders are hoping that Carroll can put an end to the instability on The Strip. Success has followed Carroll everywhere he’s gone. He won the NCAA National Championship with the University of Southern California in 2004 and a decade later won the Super Bowl with Seattle becoming only the third coach to do win at both levels.
