Bengals’ Joe Burrow assessed for concussion after heavy hit
The quarterback was slow to get to his feet after a sack and was immediately taken to the medical tent.
Joe Burrow was taken from the field and assessed for a concussion on Saturday evening after taking a heavy hit in the third quarter.
The Cinciannti Bengals quarterback was slow to get up after being sacked by Nick Herbig. Burrow was first taken to the medical tent for an initial evaluation before returning to the team bench.
Pitchside reporters confirmed that Burrow had undergone tests for a possible concussion but he was soon back out on the field.
Herbig, along with Cameron Heyward, drove Burrow to the ground and landed with full weight on the Bengals' QB. Burrow was fit to continue after a brief absence but it is just the latest in a long string of big hits that he has received this season, the fifth-most sacked quarterback in the league.
