Bengals vs Bills summary: Burrow dominates, score, stats, highlights | NFL Divisional Round
The Cincinnati Bengals are headed to their second straight AFC Championship after going into Highmark Stadium and downing the Bills on a wintery evening in Buffalo. Joe Burrow threw two first quarter touchdowns to set the tone in the 27-10.
Hamlin returns to Highmark
It was a rematch of the game that was never completed back in Week 17 after Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest in Cincinnati. Hamlin was in attendance in Orchard Park, but his presence wasn’t enough to boost the Bills over the Bengals who dominated Buffalo in every facet of the game.
The snow started to fall a few hours before kickoff in Western New York, which was supposed to benefit the Bills who were tabbed to have the better offensive line and the more effective run game.
The Bengals came out and set the tone from the opening drive. Joe Burrow and Joe Mixon marched Cincy down the field as their QB1 went 4/4 on the first possession and finished it off with a 28 yard strike to Ja’Maar Chase to put the Bengals up 7-0.
CIncy runs all over Buffalo
Cincinnati’s defense shut down Josh Allen and the Bills all night, starting on the first drive when the Bills went three and out to begin the game. Zac Taylor’s team doubled the lead before Buffalo could run their fourth play of the game and the Bills were never able to mount a comeback.
Allen went 25/42 with 265 yards with a rushing touchdown on a QB sneak midway through the second quarter following an eight minute drive to cut Cincy’s lead in half, but that would be as close as they would get to the Bengals.
Bengals @ Chiefs next Sunday in Arrowhead
A late field goal at the end of the first half extended the Bengals lead to 17-7, and then Cincinnati grinded out a 12 play TD drive on their first possession of the third quarter. Mixon continued to take chunks out of the Bills defense and got his pay dirt on a TD run from inside the one yard line to extend the lead to 24-10 just before the start of the final fifteen minutes.
Mixon had 105 of the Bengals 172 yards on the ground, as the run game made the difference to the surprise of many, including the Buffalo defense.
The defense would take over from there, forcing the Bills into a three and out, a turn over on downs and an interception iced the game and sent the Bengals to their second straight AFC Championship to take on the Kansas CIty Chiefs.

The Chiefs will host the Bengals in the AFC Championship next week from Arrowhead Stadium for a spot in the Super Bowl
The Bengals silenced the Bills and Who Dey Nation kept the Bills Mafia quiet all evening. The Who Deys prevail in a land slide in Buffalo.
The Bengals punched in the game winning TD courtesy of Mixon's 1 yard TD run and the Cincy D took over from there.
Damar Hamlin was at the game and gave the Bills and the fans a big emotional boost in the snow in Buffalo.
It took the Bills a while to get going, and really they only got going on one drive. It came in the middle of the second quarter after an 8 minute drive that was capped by Allen's QB sneak.
The Benglas made it 14-0 before the Bills ran their fourth play of the game. Burrow hit Hurst after the pump fake and found him wide open in the end zone.
The Bengals came out firing from the start and Burrow hit Chase for the 28 yard TD catch and run on the game's first possession.

The Bills come into tonight as 6 points favorites and the Over/Under is set at 48.5.
The Bengals offense is good enough to keep up with the Bills, and I really think this game will come down to the last possession, so I'm taking Cincy getting the points.
Hamlin in the house
Damar Hamlin returns to Highmark Stadium less then three weeks after suffering a cardiac arrest. This is a huge boost to the Bills who will have that emotional edge tonight, but will it translate to a win?
Snowy Buffalo
What's a playoff game in Buffalo without some snow? It held off for a while but it's starting to come down in Orchard Park. How will it affect the passing game's of both of these offenses? Cincy and Buffalo are both pass heavy teams, so it could down to whose running game comes to play today.
Eagles soar into NFC title game
The Eagles jumped all over from the Giants from the beginning on Saturday night. They scored TDs on four of their first five possessions to start the game as the defense forced a turnover on downs, picked off Daniel Jones, and forced three straight three and outs to close the half up 28-0. Jalen Hurts, who looked back to his best after suffering a late season shoulder injury, as Philly cruised to a 38-7 win and will host either the Niners or Cowboys at Lincoln Financial next weekend.
After tight games all Super Wild Card Weekend lost last week, the first two Divisional Round a bit less dramatic. The Chiefs got a scare when Patrick Mahomes went down with a first quarter ankle injury, but their MVP candidate returned to the game, visibly bothered by his injured ankle, but he threw a TD to Marques Valdez-Scantling in the middle of the final quarter and then a fumble by Jamal Agnew closed the door on the Jags comeback possibilities.
Hamlin progressing
It was one of the most frightening scenes you could see play out on a football field. Damar Hamlin dropped to the ground and suffered a cardiac arrest after making a hit on Tee Higgins in the first half of the game against the Bills in Cincy. The ambulance came on to the field, where he would have to be resuscitated by medics.
He was far from out of danger once he got to the hospital, but University of Cincinnati doctors saved Hamlin’s life as he inched his way towards a recovery. He has since been discharged from the hospital but a family spokesman told reporters that there is still a long way to go for the Bills defender. Hamlin is still requiring oxygen and is having his heart monitored regularly to make sure he continues to progress. He may not be with his team on the sideline today, but you can bet he is watching and he is on the minds of each and everyone of his teammates in the biggest game of the season.
Week 17 match up
It was one of the most anticipated matchups of the regular season, as the Bengals and Bills played a late season Monday Night game that had top seed implications on the line. The game was stopped in the first half after Bills DB Damar Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest on the field. He had to be brought back to life on the field, and spent weeks in a Cincinnati Hospital before being miraculously discharged after a near death experience. The game was suspended briefly and then the league came out and announced the game would be cancelled after much deliberation.
Burrow in the building

Allen arrives at Highmark
The Buffalo Bills rise and fall on the quarterback play of Josh Allen. He is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, if not the best, but when he has struggled, the Bills have struggled this season. He is at home, in front of Bills Mafia with a return to the AFC Championship on the line. Allen has showed his talent time and time again, now it’s time to show that he can win the big ones and take this team back to the Super Bowl.
Cincy squeezes past Ravens
Cincinnati’s game against Baltimore, like the Bills against the Dolphins, was supposed to be a breeze for Joe Burrow and the Bengals. The Raven’s started second string QB Tyler Huntley after Lamar Jackson ruled himself out of the first round playoff game, and the Bengals jumped out to a 9-0 lead after their first two possession of the game. Huntley and the Ravens would take the lead before halftime with a long TD drive followed by a forced fumble that put Baltimore up 10-9. The Ravens looked like they were taking control of the time possession battle and were on the verge of taking the lead early in the fourth quarter, but a 98 yard Sam Hubbard scoop and score turned the tide for the Bengals who would hang on to beat the wounded Ravens side.
Bills back in Orchard Park
You would have thought last week’s game against the Miami Dolphins would have been a cake walk for the the Bills. Tua Tagovailoa missed the game after being placed in concussion protocol yet again, and the Dolphins had to start rookie Skylar Thompson. Buffalo jumped out to an early 17-0 lead early in the second quarter, but the Fins came charging back to take the lead right after the halftime break thanks to a couple of costly mistakes from Josh Allen. After a late first half interception and an early second half strip sack and recovery for a TD, the Bills found themselves down 24-20, but cooler heads would prevail as Allen straightened the ship and threw two TDs to lead Buffalo to the Divisional Round of the playoffs for the third straight year.

Hello everyone and welcome to Highmark Stadium where two teams who know what it takes to get to the conference title game will go to battle tonight. The Bills were the preseason favorite to make it to the Super Bowl out of the AFC, but they knew they would have to get through Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals who went to the Super Bowl after beating the Kansas City Chiefs in the conference championship. These two teams met late in the season, but will now have a chance to settle scores after that game was cut short after the Damar Hamlin cardiac arrest scare that shook the sports world.
Bengals vs. Bills
