The Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins renew one of the most bitter rivalries in the NFL to open up Week 2 from South Beach. Both teams won their opening game of the season, and the winner of Thursday night’s game will take a first step towards winning the division.

Bills vs. Dolphins preview

Since Tom Brady left New England and the Patriots dynasty came tumbling down, there has been a new sheriff around in the AFC East. Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have won the division four years running and are looking to make it a fifth this year despite some important offseason departures over the summer. That didn’t stop them from coming back on the Arizona Cardinals after spotting them 10 points to begin their opening game of the year. Josh Allen put on his Superman cape and literally carried his team to the finish line from Orchard Park.

The Dolphins have been one of he best offensive teams in the game since Mike McDaniel took over on the sidelines in Miami. Tua Tagovailoa has turned into a top rated quarterback, and made this Miami offense among the most feared in the league. The defense has been somewhat of a problem for the Dolphins over the last few years, but it was the defense that kept them in the game on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The forced fumble on the one yard line turned the tides in the game, and then Tyreek Hill’s 80 yard TD swung momentum completely in Miami’s favor.

These two have grown awfully familiar in the last few seasons. This will be their fourth meeting since January of last year. Over the course of their rivalry they have played 121 games with the Dolphins holding the edge 62-58-1. The Fins might have the historical advantage, but the Bills have won four straight over their bitter rivals.

Spread, Over/Under and Prediction

Coming into Thursday night’s match up, it’s the Dolphins who are a slight favorite with plenty of points expected from Hard Rock Stadium.

Bills vs. Dolphins spread: Miami -2

Bills vs. Dolphins Over/Under: 48.5

Bills vs. Dolphins money line: Miami -136, Bills +115

Prediction:

The Dolphins survived a scare on a day in which their offense was rolling. There will be those kinds of games for Miami this season. They need to figure out how to win when everything on the offensive end isn’t clicking. I don’t think that will be a problem against the Bills who gave up 28 points to the Cardinals. I think Tua has a big game and the Dolphins defense frustrates Josh Allen as Miami win it in a landslide.

Miami win 35-14.
