- Jags loss means Bills are in playoffs
- If Dolphins win: they get two seed, Bills get seven seed
- If Bills win: they get two seed, Dolphins get six seed
- If Dolphins win, we get Bills @ Dolphins rematch next week
The Bills took Miami by storm and won the AFC East on hostile ground. They now have the two seed in the conference and will take on the seven seed Pittsburgh Steelers next week in Orchard Park. The Dolphins drop to the six seed and will take on the Chiefs in Aarowhead next week.
The thing about Allen is that, even if he makes mistakes that have the capability of losing a game for his team, if you leave the Bills in it at the end he has the composure to put those bad plays in the rear view and come up with game winning plays late in the game.
Deonte Harty came up with the play that changed the night and wrapped up the AFC East with this 96 yard punt return for a TD when it seemed like everything was working in the Dolphins favor.
Allen turned it over for the third time on the night, this time at the 20 yard line leaving more points on the board. to end the third quarter.
The Bills left more points on the field right before the half when Allen went over the middle for Ty Johnson who looked sure to get into the endzone but he was somehow stopped short and the Bills went to the break down by a TD.
The Dolphins punched back after the Sherfield TD a 9 play drive capped off by this Tyreek Hill TD from two yards out. The Dolphins were without Raheem Mostert and Jalylen Waddle but they didn't seem to miss them for the first 30 minutes. That would change after the halftime break.
When Josh Allen's pass got deflected up in the air and fell into the Trent Sherfield's hands in the back of the endzone, you got a feeling that it was going to be the Bills night, despite the errors they committed throughout the night.
The Dolphins passing game is always going to be dangerous but De'Von Achane was running all over the Bills in the first half. This 25 yard TD run put the Dolphins on the board, but the run game would die down just like the rest of the offense in the second half.
Allen threw another pick in the endzone but this one was on 4th down and it served as more of a punt than anything else.
Josh Allen had another one of those games where he could have lost the game in a number of ways, like throwing a pick in the endzone on the opening possession. It was a rough way to start his night, and it would only get rougher before it got better.
The Bills defense came up with the first big play of the night when Christian Brentford picked off Tua on the first possession of the game. They would quiet down for much of the first half, but have their say in the second half, keeping the Miami offense quiet in the final 30 minutes.

Tonight's odds
The Bills are coming into to Miami as a slight road favorite tonight. They are favored by 2.5 points and the Over/Under is set at 48.
The Bills are rolling right now, and they have shown they can beat good teams. I think the Bills win it tonight to set up a rematch of this game next week in Buffalo.
Bills win 33-17.
Previous matchup
It seems like ages ago, but these two teams met at the beginning of October when the Dolphins were undefeated and came into the match up looking like the top team in the league, with an offense that was on record setting pace. The Bills were expected to be one of the best teams in the league but they were trying to make the world forget about their opening week loss to an Aaron Rodgers-less Jets team. The Bills welcomed the Dolphins to Orchard Park by laying a beatdown on Miami. Josh Allen dominated the QB dual with Tua Tagovailoa, throwing for 320 yards and four TDs while running for another TD in the 48-20 spanking of their divisional rival.
What's at stake
After the other 15 games this weekend we have reached the finale of Week 18 and subsequently, the finale of the regular season. We all know there is plenty to play for tonight, so here is exactly what’s at stake. When it comes to the AFC East, it’s pretty simple: winner takes all. Which ever team wins tonight is the two seed, but if the Dolphins win the Bills get the seven seed which will set up a rematch of tonight’s game next week. If the Bills win the Bills get the two seed and the Dolphins would get the six seed, which would mean the Bills play the Steelers and the Dolphins would play the Chiefs.
Tua to take charge?
Tua Tagovailoa has been one of the top QBs in the league, but he and the rest of the Dolphins team have been dealing with a major issue this year. They can’t win big games against good teams. It was evident when they suffered their first loss of the season to this very same Bills team. It was evident when they lost to the Eagles midway through the season and it became evident at one of the worst times possible last week in Baltimore. Tonight Tua and the Dolphins will have a chance to silence some of their doubters in front of their home fans, right before the playoffs when you play nothing but good teams.
All eyes on Allen
The Bills go as Josh Allen goes. When he struggles, they struggle. He is coming off a game that didn’t convince too many people, although he did go up against a Patriots defense that made history earlier in the year for not allowing 10 points in three straight games. Allen is best when he is using a blend of his arm and his legs, but the Bills are at their best when their QB get some help from the running game. James Cook looked like he was going to be the difference maker in the Bills wins over KC and Dallas, but last week he struggled against the New England defense. We should expect a lot of points tonight, but the Bills are going to want to run a healthy dose of Cook to try and keep the Miami offense off the field as much as they can.
Dolphins last game
The Dolphins got embarrassed by the Ravens in a battle of the top teams in the AFC last week in Baltimore. Miami’s top rated offense was shut down, and held to just two TDs, and 19 points as Lamar Jackson and Baltimore threw and ran all over the Dolphins D. Jackson tossed five TDs, totaled 321 yards in the air with another 35 yards on the ground as the Ravens had the game in the bag at halftime. Jackson threw his third TD pass of the first half when he connected with Isaiah Likely to put Baltimore up 28-13 right before the end of the second quarter. The onslaught would continue as Likely added another TD to his stat sheet in the third quarter, and three fourth quarter TDs would turn it from a route to an embarrassment.
Bills last game
The Bills went into their last game against the Patriots knowing they would need to win to ensure a chance to fight for a postseason spot on the final day of the regular season. Bill Belichick and company didn’t make it too easy, for the Bills in Orchard Park, as the Pats came out and punched Buffalo in the mouths early on with a 98 yard Jalen Reagor kickoff return for a TD. The Bills responded by taking the lead before the second quarter thanks to a couple of Tyler Bass field goals and a QB sneak from Josh Allen. Rasul Douglas came up with the play of the game, picking off Bailey Zappe and taking it 40 yards to the house to take a 20-7 lead early in the second quarter. Josh Allen had another suspect game at the entirely wrong time, throwing an INT and going 15/30 for just 169 but his second rushing TD was enough to bury the Pats.
We are live from Hard Rock
Hello everyone and welcome to Miami where the Dolphins return home after spoiling a chance to take the top spot in the AFC last week. They didn’t just lose to the Raven’s last week, they got their butts handed to them and tonight they need to rebound or they will their hold in the AFC East right before the finish line. The Bills had everyone to play for tonight, but the Jags loss earlier today means they are in the playoffs no matter what. They still have a chance to win the division tonight with a victory over Dolphins, if they don’t they will drop to a Wild Card spot and face one of the division winners in the first round of the playoffs. Two of the league’s best offensive teams go toe to toe in a divisional rivalry to end the regular season. Can’t ask for much more than that. Fasten your seat belts, it’s going to get bumpy.
