Bills’ Josh Allen shares the sweet advice from grandma that’s changing his mindset
The Buffalo Bills’ hot start came to an abrupt end after back-to-back losses, but quarterback Josh Allen has found inspiration from an unexpected source.

After a red-hot 4–0 start to the 2025 NFL season, Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills have cooled off with back-to-back losses to the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. And it’s apparently noticeable in Allen’s attitude.
Josh Allen reveals heartwarming message from his grandma
Allen, last season’s league MVP, has struggled during their loss streak, throwing three interceptions over the last two games after just one in the first four. His efficiency has dipped too, and his completion rate and yardage have both dropped noticeably since September.
Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Allen said he’s trying to learn how to stay positive even when things don’t go well, and credited an unexpected motivator for the reminder: his grandmother.
“She called me and said, ‘I just want to see you smile,’” Allen shared with a grin. The quarterback admitted it’s easier to smile when the team is winning but emphasized that he needs to focus on having fun and executing the game plan.

“Leading from the front, but also having energy and juice, and not putting my head in the sand,” Allen said.
The Bills will try to turn things around at home this Sunday against the 4-3 Carolina Panthers, who are expected to be without injured quarterback Bryce Young. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET from Highmark Stadium.
