Broncos vs Chargers injury report: Is Justin Herbert available to play?
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert has been fighting a rib injury, but has still delivered the numbers for his team. He will start against the Broncos.
The Denver Broncos will go on the road to face the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 6, and the hosts appear to have an advantage when it comes to the health of their players.
Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert sustained a rib cartilage fracture in Week 2′s defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, but has been playing through it since Week 3. He has been a full participant in practice the whole week leading up to Week 6′s matchup against the Denver Broncos, and is expected to start for the team, per usual.
One concern for the team is wide receiver Keenan Allen, who was a limited participant in this week’s practice because of his hamstring injury. He was listed as doubtful in the team’s injury report. Kicker Dustin Hopkins and right tackle Trey Pipkins also had limited participation during the week, although Hopkins participated fully on Saturday.
Broncos’ long injury list
Meanwhile, the Broncos have been plagued by injuries in the 2022-23 season. Thankfully for them, they’ve had 10 days to rest since their Week 5 game on Oct. 6, giving their athletes some much-needed recovery time.
Quarterback Russell Wilson was a full participant in the team’s last two days of practice following his shoulder injury, while running back Latavius Murray has been given the green light after nursing his hurt wrist.
However, they still have two players out for Monday Night Football: linebacker Josey Lewell and safety Caden Sterns. Seven other players were listed as questionable.
