Update:

As the Detroit Lions gear up to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, their offense appears set to thrive, mainly due to key injuries in Tampa Bay’s secondary. If the Lions’ offensive line can maintain its strength, the team could be on course for a big scoring day.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Tampa Bay’s defense has taken a major hit with the absence of some key players in its secondary, leaving it particularly vulnerable. The team is now without Josh Hayes, Luke Goedeke, Calijah Kancey, and Antoine Winfield Jr. Adding to its woes, two crucial players are with questionable status: defensive lineman Logan Hall and defensive back Tykee Smith, sidelined with a foot injury and illness, respectively.

In addition to these absences, four more players missed Friday’s practice for various reasons. Among them were K.J. Britt (due to illness), William Gholston (elbow injury), and veterans Lavonte David and Mike Evans, who were given a day of rest.

Detroit Lions

The Lions will miss safety Ifeatu Melifonwu (ankle) and wide receiver Isaiah Williams (abdomen) for Sunday’s game. Defensive End Marcus Davenport (groin) is doubtful about playing as he hasn’t practiced all week. If he’s unable to play, James Houston and Josh Paschal will see more playing time against Tampa Bay’s offense.

Other players from Detroit to keep an eye on are safety Kerby Joseph (hamstring), right tackle Penei Sewell (ankle), and wide receiver Jameson Williams (ankle). As of Friday, they are all listed as questionable.

On the other hand, cornerback Carlton Davis III (chest), defensive lineman D.J. Reader (quadriceps), and safety Loren Strickland (thumb) are all expected to play on Sunday as they carry non-injury designations on Friday.
