Caleb Williams has “championship-level” ambitions for the Bears
The second-year quarterback led his team to a dramatic fourth quarter win over the New York Giants.

The Chicago Bears have not won a playoff game since the 2010 season but there is a growing sense that this year could be different.
The Bears picked up a dramatic 24-20 win over the New York Giants on Sunday, taking the team to a 6-3 record and second in the NFC North. Quarterback Caleb Williams scrambled for the game-winning touchdown on Sunday and afterwards he spoke to reporters about the team’s ambitions for the season.
“We’ve gotta be truthful to ourselves, we’ve gotta be truthful as a team, and we’ve gotta figure it out. We’ve got to fix some things because we want to be a playoff team, we want to be a championship-level team.”

Just as they did against the Washington Commanders two weeks earlier, the Bears left it until their final play of the day to win the game against an inferior team. The excitement factor around Chicago may be a good thing when the team is winning but Williams knows that they can’t always rely on dramatic late wins.
“I think it’s that full sixty minute football. I think it’s about us, and that determination that we won’t go out without a fight,” Williams continued. “It’s awesome having these game, but we’ve got to find a way of winning them earlier.”
Next for the Bears is a trip to U.S. Bank Stadium to take on the Minnesota Vikings, who sit bottom of the NFC North. A third straight victory for Chicago would leave them with real hopes of a long-awaited return to the postseason.
